Anyone have first hand experience with this company? Also, whats fascinating, i remember reading an article that they were numero 2 a few years ago... and guess that, it was almost exactly 2 years ago HH posted this:

Seems like they're really upping the ante!

I have two of this VIZIO brand, a 37" LCD and a 46" LCD. Both have been here at the house since summer 2006 and I've had no problems with them at all. Both still have a great picture, and I would buy VIZIO again. I had bought a SANYO 26" LCD at the same time I bought these, but it died in 2009.

I have a 42" true led. It's amazing, best bang for the buck. It looks better than my parents 46" sharp aquos, granted I have 120 hz refresh rate.

realneil 3 years ago

The 120's I've seen on display have an outstanding picture.

all the Vizio's I have seen have unbelievable picture. I been wanting one for my next purchase

VIZIO makes great TV's. I've been looking into getting one to replace my ageing Toshiba 34" CRT.

inspector 3 years ago

And one of u told me to stay away from VIZIO! lol

MCook 3 years ago

Inspector, whoever said that is right, they may sell a lot but they often will use cheap components (google Vizio Pop of Death to see one common issue), and they don't have any inventory, so if you do have a problem getting parts to repair it can be a nightmare. Also, they do not have on-site service, YOU pay to ship the thing back to them, then wait until the send it back to you, which could take weeks to months. They are cheap for a reason, you may get a killer deal today but you may end up paying for it in the end, stay with brands like Sony, Sharp, Samsung, JVC and Panasonic, steer clear of Vizio and other "bargain" brands.
Also, they do not have on-site service
Both of mine (Vizio) came with 5 years of free in home service. Never had to use it though, because they work fine.

rofl; I love it "Also, they do not have on-site service" re:MCook, "Both of mine (Vizio) came with 5 years of free in home service. " realneil. I am sorry to pull rank on ya MCook I have know realneil for several years now on here, and in general everything he has told me has been generally correct.

realneil 3 years ago

Mine came with FREE in home service for 5 years.

I got them both at Costco at the same time. They were a fairly new brand at the time.

They don't offer that anymore though,...........

MCook 3 years ago

I didn't say Neil had said anything false, and that's great that he has good service with Vizio, I still wouldn't buy one though :)

realneil 3 years ago
I didn't say Neil had said anything false
I know you didn't.

I bought these two panels because the cost was so low. At the time I had lots of money, (the good old days) but didn't want to blow it all on TV screens either. So I bought the less expensive screens. The Sanyo screen was more money per screen size but died rapidly.

One thing that I do with them is I take them outside and blow the dust out of them once a year. They do collect a lot of dust too. So keeping them clean may be helping.

The Aquos screens are nice, my daughter has a few of them, but my next purchase will be a 120Mhz. screen.

AKwyn 3 years ago

I've seen Vizio branded TV's before but I've never expected they'd become this big. Still, congrats.

I may be looking towards a Vizio HDTV to make our living room a centerpiece, and that was before they became #1.

infinityzen1 3 years ago

Their the ultra cheap of HDTVs. Thank you but no, I'll stick with my Sharp Aquos. Much better quality panel, much better picture quality, much higher quality workmanship, and an actual usable warranty.
