TiVo Offers On-Demand Domino's Pizza

It's time to score another win for the couch potato generation. With TiVo's most recent partnership--this time with Domino's Pizza--you can now order a pizza directly from your TiVo without ever leaving your couch or even picking up the phone.

"This is the first time in history that the 'on-demand' generation will be able to fully experience couch commerce by ordering pizza directly through their television set." -- Rob Weisberg, Vice President of Precision and Print Marketing at Domino's Pizza, Inc.

Starting today, TiVo subscribers with a broadband connection can order food from Domino's in a number of different ways. When a Domino's commercial plays on the TiVo, you'll be able to click an "I want it" icon that appears on the screen using the remote. Users can also access an "Order Your Dominos Pizza Now" option through the TiVo Music, Photos, Products, & More menu option. Frequent Domino's customers "can set-up a user name and password on Dominos.com so that each time they use their TiVo remote to place an order, they can log-in with a simple account number. Alternatively, TiVo subscribers can enter their delivery address, build their pizza order right from the television set by selecting type of crust, toppings, and sauces, and get the pizza delivered by their local Domino's Pizza." You still have to pay cash when the delivery person arrives with your order, however--the system is not currently set up to take credit card orders.

Ordering Domino's Pizza is just the latest addition to a growing list customer-purchasing options that TiVo has added to its services. Existing services include on-demand movie rentals from Amazon, Disney, CinemaNow, and Jaman, as well as purchasing movie tickets with Fandango. TiVo has also partnered with Netflix for on-demand movie and TV show streaming--the Netflix on TiVo service is scheduled to start next month.

While this is certainly a boon for those who don't like to get up off the couch, we're still waiting for the ability to instantly download the pizza and not have to wait 30 minutes for delivery. In the meantime, we'll be busy programming our WowWee FemiSapien robot to answer the door, pay the delivery person, and bring the pizza to us on the couch.

I've done the online order, I guess this is just the next level of laziness.

Let's hear it for laziness (round of applause)!YesBeer But in my neck-of-the-flaming-California-woods Domino's is terrible. I wish it was Roundtable. Roundtable has the best pizza!

Growing up in NY most pizza is terrible. Dominos is ok for a chain.

The best. If you ever go to NY get yourself some pizza. Go to some random dirty looking shack and order a pizza. Pizza will never really be the same to you.
