The Evolution of Google, An Interactive Timeline

Long before "Google" became both a noun and a verb, put Mountain View on the (proverbial) map, and became one of the wealthiest and most powerful companies on the planet, there were two young fellows named Larry and Sergey that met at Stanford University in 1995.

The in-between parts are the subject of the entertaining and informative interactive graphic below. Created by OnlinePhD.org, it gives a brief story on Google's adventures since its inception; interesting tidbits and factoids; and the running total of Google users, employees, and net income over the years.

Even if you fancy yourself well-versed in Google lore, it's worth a read.

The history of them and Google is very fascinating. It's unfortunate that they are making more and more decisions that affect their users privacy adversely.

Google is still better with privacy than facebook. I dont see why people are getting so worked up over privacy these days. NO matter how hard we try, all of our information is all over the internet. It gets taken from us where we know it or not.
