Samsung Gets With Windows Phone 7 Party: OMNIA 7 Smartphone

HTC's HD2 grew a partner today in the HD7; now, Samsung is doing something similar with their Omnia lineup. The new OMNIA 7, announced today in conjunction with Microsoft's major Windows Phone 7 push, gives consumers another brand option when it comes time to evaluate WP7 handsets. Keeping with the trend of having a large touch panel, the OMNIA 7 also has a 4" Super AMOLED display, 1GHz application processor and a 5 megapixel camera.

It also includes all of the standard WP7 features, like Xbox LIVE integration, Netflix streaming, Zune support, etc. The OMNIA 7 will be available in select markets during the holiday 2010 timeframe, but no price is listed. We get the impression that this will be the WP7 option to choose if you love multi-media; in the past, Samsung phones have been first to support DiVX, and we don't doubt that the OMNIA 7 will also be a multi-media powerhouse.
