Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear Land at AT&T on October 4

AT&T dropped us a note today to let us know it's planning to carry Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 phablet and Galaxy Gear smartwatch online and in stores beginning October 4. The Galaxy Note 3 will be available for $299.99 with a two-year service agreement, or $35 per month if you opt for AT&T Next. As for the Galaxy Gear, that will be available for 99 cents less for $299 even with no subsidized option.

The Galaxy Gear is Samsung's first wearable smartwatch and is meant to be paired with the Galaxy Note 3. The Gear allows users to make hands-free calls and text messages using its built-in speaker. It also offers real-time notifications of phone calls, meetings you've marked on your calendar, text messages, and more. Whether or not users actually embrace the whole smart watch concept -- and an expensive one at that -- remains to be seen.
