Razer Intros Goliathus Mousepad, For Soft-Mat Lovers

Razer's been focused on peripherals for gamers over the years, and while a good mouse is important, it's not much without a good mouse pad. Razer's able to help out in that regard, as well, and this week they're introducing the Goliathus precision gaming board, and this one's designed for those who prefer soft mats. It's still still and rigid, but doesn't have that rock-hard surface that others have.

Razer has improved the design by adding a dense, anti-fraying and long-lasting stitched frame, which is said to add an unprecedented level of targeting and tracking accuracy, while maintaining a perfectly controllable yet consistent glide. Pricing ranges from $14.99 to $34.99 depending on the edition you buy, with global availability slated for this month.

“The only thing wearing down should be your enemy,” said Robert “RazerGuy” Krakoff, President Razer USA. “The Razer Goliathus is our pride and joy when it comes to soft mats, designed with professional gaming-validated weaves for an exceptional mouse swiping experience. Now with anti-fray edges, you can go forth and frag even harder, worry-free.”

About the Razer Goliathus Control Edition Mouse Mat:

The Razer Goliathus Control Edition gaming-grade mouse mat takes your mouse’s superb precision up a notch by having it matched with the mat’s specially textured weave capable of registering even the smallest of movements. This gives gamers an unprecedented level of targeting and tracking accuracy, while maintaining a perfectly controllable yet consistent glide. With its anti-fraying stitched frame, the edges last longer, giving you the freedom to tear your opponent to shreds, and not your mouse mat.

I have a kabuto, and the pads edges curl up from the rubber base and are frayed after only 3 months of use.

With the goliathus it combines the durability of a hard mat with the features of smoother glides associated with a soft mat.

This is a definite upgrade for the future, and the extended mousepad could be used to hold a keyboard in place as well as mine seems to slide around alot on my desk even with the rubber bits on the bottom of the keyboard

I'm in need of a new mouse pad now, might actually get this one. I like the cloth feel on my mouse pads more :)
