OpenPeak Reveals 4G Tablet Range At Mobile World Congress

New tablets? In 2011? Get outta here! Actually, that's exactly what we've been expecting out of 2011, and that's what many companies are delivering this year. OpenPeak is joining the crowd by introducing new 4G tablets at Mobile World Congress. These new tablets will rely on Intel's Atom CPU, an Ercisson F5521gw broadband module and 4G speeds (HSPA Evolution at 21Mbps up, 5.7Mbps down).

The 4G OpenTablets integrate easily with OpenPeak’s OpenServices to provide powerful Device Management Control through OpenPeak’s cloud services platform and device management system, and many of these same robust device management tools can also be made available to end consumers, offering centralized controls that enable parents or a designated device admin to apply content filters, set budgets, manage apps on multiple devices or even locate and wipe a lost device. OpenTablets also feature built-in multi-user sharing with account management options and log-ins for each user account, with these custom settings allowing individual users to configure their own account applications, wallpaper and other options; password protection offers peace of mind, security and control.

Unfortunately, little else is being said about the new devices, leading us to believe that the 4G aspect is likely the only changed part. Still, we aren't going to complain over a faster tablet, that's for sure!

BOCA RATON, Fla. & BARCELONA, Spain--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OpenPeak Inc., a leading provider of multimedia touch-screen device and device management platforms, today unveiled its new 4G-enabled OpenTablet devices delivering more powerful performance, better usability and features not available on any other tablet on the market. The devices made their debut during the 2011 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

“In addition to blazing mobile broadband speeds and advanced features, the OpenTablet devices also tap into our OpenShop app store for easy access to a large and growing universe of Android™ Apps.”

Driven by the Intel® Atom™ processor and featuring the Ericsson mobile broadband module, the feature-rich devices combine a dual camera, HDMI output and wideband speakers, now enhanced with true HSPA evolution speeds at 21 Mbps D/L, 5.7 Mbps U/L. The new tablets give users one of the fastest mobile broadband experiences available in an embedded device.

The 4G OpenTablets integrate easily with OpenPeak’s OpenServices to provide powerful Device Management Control through OpenPeak’s cloud services platform and device management system. This affords comprehensive device management to service providers, including the ability to push applications, perform firmware updates and lock/unlock devices.

Many of these same robust device management tools can also be made available to end consumers, offering centralized controls that enable parents or a designated device admin to apply content filters, set budgets, manage apps on multiple devices or even locate and wipe a lost device.

OpenTablets also feature built-in multi-user sharing with account management options and log-ins for each user account. Custom settings allow individual users to configure their own account applications, wallpaper and other options; password protection offers peace of mind, security and control.
