Well i dont know for sure if they were to blame for some of it but I have to agree Nvidia's drivers were Aweful at launch for my aging Nforce 4 platform. My lan connection would randomly disconect me and games saw 20fps decrease not counting lock ups and what not and I do fully attribute those problems to nvidia. My system has been very stable since then though with driver revisions. However they could definately do more work on nforce 4 driver its been a year and still no updates.
I actually heard rumors that were was a class-action lawsuit being brought up against nVidia a few months after Vista's launch due to their plethora of driver issues so I can definately see why this article could come about -- as I remember, I think the people bringing about the lawsuit eventually had their case barried by nVidia through overwhelming amounts of papers/appeals/settlements etc...
But this is just heresay so take it with a grain of salt...
I heard that as well
Since they have written-off their older nForce platforms (nForce2) and have chosen not to develope Vista drivers for them, nVidia is definitely to blame for me not upgrading to Vista...and I am inclined not to purchase nVidia products anymore. Why? I have to wonder if today's nVidia products will have drivers compatible with tomorrow's Windows 7 operating system. It seems nVidia abandons it's loyal customers quite quickly once the product-cycle is completed. Poop on them.
