NVIDIA Denies Any Interest in Via
"They don't need our money. I don't need theirs," Huang said, referring to Via. "They're doing fine. People want to create drama," he added.
Previous reports cited a number of scenarios including Nvidia's acquisition of the entire company. Via makes processors and chipsets for x86-based computers. Via reported revenue of about US$87.5 million in the first quarter of 2008.
Why is Huang not interested? Because it's not their schtick. Yep, his words.

ugh... doesnt nvidia also make chipsets like via? so wouldnt nvidia's acquisition of via solidify its stance in the chipset making industry...? although nvidia is mostly graphics based it does branch out a bit..
People want to create drama, Mr. Huang? I think people want to create competition. A serious third entry in the CPU market would be excellent. VIA right now are not a serious competitor and AMD is losing their edge every day. Or maybe he saw that the opposite was bad (AMD buying ATi) so he doesn't want to see the same mistake. But I would welcome it. After all Nvidia, don't forget about Larabee. Intel and AMD both will have CPU and GPU territory in a couple years.

but yeah fusion will be intresting. but then again it might just fizz and burn like all that physics cards and stuff.. (remember physX and then using a video card for physics....) fusion might just work out good for mobile or low cost sectors of the market... but its *supposed* to also help with high end sectors by letting you have an extra gpu for gamingl.... time will tell how it works out. im just hoping amd hops back into action soon the b3 revisions of the phenom are more than welcomed as they are the first true competition to intel quad.

Ovbiously AMD is there already, but I'm including them in the same sentence to emphasize that the two competitors will be there. I'm just bugged about your comprehension here. i dont know maybe they want to make sure they stay up in gpu. amd cpu and gpu are not beating atm*(mostly) and if intel tries to hard their cpu can fall too.( wonder if that will make intel and amd close again =o) just my thought =p.
