Don't be in a hurry to install SP3, especially if you have an HP desktop rig with an AMD processor. Wait until Microsoft is satisfied with it and offers it for distribution on CD before you install it.
Haven't had any issues here on my rig. Everything still runs fine! : )
Lol so many problems with WIndows.
I'm watching tv and the stupid Mac and Vista commercial came on. But its true Windows does get many problems but it does the job overall.

I hear HP used some nonstandard chipset drivers which is the culprit causing the endless reboot loop. Fortunately I heard that you can boot into safe mode on these systems and uninstall SP3.
Been installing SP3 at work and havent had any issues on the custom built ones ive made, our sony's or our tons of dell's.
I suffered a hefty performance penalty the first week that I installed it (probably because prefetch was reset) and I had lots of application glitches. They seem to have all subsided now and the system is running fine. My mom is reporting random shutdowns and lockups though, so I'm not sure what to make of it on that end.
windows needs service packs for service packs. i never hear of macs needing more than 1 service pack (i may be wrong though so dont quote me on this) but it seems that windows is overall sloppy coding, mostly due to the huge mass of people that work on it. having hundreds of coders trying to work together is hard i presume and could cause some sloppy code.
No issues here at work either. Not sure what's up with you guys machines. Installed this on all my machines in my home also and the two offices i support and no ones had an issue.
Did get hit by that Vista update last week...completely screwed up a laptop at one of my offices.... damn Vista! Burn it at the stakes!

what do you think the final number after the decimal is? umm 10.4.x 10.4.11? When apple releases software updates they generall have hundreds of fixes in each batch.
Had some issues with the work machines thus far, Dell systems with ATI/AMD video cards using Dell's drivers [Dell hasn't updated their video drivers in over a year and Dells drivers caused problems with portrait display mode enabled once SP3 was installed. Some weird freezing of the display driver. Upgrading to newer catalyst drives fixed it for me, so we upgrade 400+ workstions video drivers before we deploy SP3.. joy...
