MSI Readies New Laptop Models for CES

We're getting close to the end of the year, and that means the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is just around the corner. This is the time when companies gather to show off their new and upcoming products, and you can bet we'll be in attendance. So will MSI, which today announced it plans to unveil a bunch of new notebooks at the show, including "the fastest gaming notebook ever." Oh really?

Really, says MSI, which claims its upcoming GT680 gaming laptop is the shiznit. MSI said its GT680 posted a score of 18,162 in PCMark Vantage, but didn't go into details on what it's packing inside. Instead, MSI kept it vague, saying the GT680 sports "Intel's latest four-core CPU, Nvidia's newest generation high end discrete graphics card, and four DDR3 memory slots expandable to 16GB of memory." We'd guess it's also packing an SSD or two, but we'll know soon enough.

MSI also plans to unveil new platforms in its F, C, U, and X series of laptops, as well as a new generation of WindPads, at least one each built around Microsoft's Windows and Google's Android operating systems.

Stay tuned, we'll have more to come!
