MSI Launches GE603 Gaming Notebook

MSI has gone and announced another 15.6 gaming laptop, this latest one built around Intel's Core i5 platform and featuring an Nvidia GeForce GT 425M graphics chip inside. It's not going to suddenly render your $2,000 gaming desktop obsolete, but it is a potent combo that brings serviceable DirectX 11 gaming in an attractive looking notebook.

More specifically, the GE603 consists of an Intel Core i5 460M, 450M, or 430M processor, up to 8GB of DDR3-1066 memory, 320/500/640GB hard drive, DVD burner, four USB 2.0 ports, an ExpressCard slot, 5-in-1 memory card reader, HDMI, VGA, 2.1 channel speakers with SRS Premium Sound, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GbE LAN, an HD webcam, Windows 7, and a 9-cell battery.


All in all a respectable assortment of parts that could prove popular depending on what price point MSI settles. No word yet on when this will ship.
