Logitech Throws Trackball Fans a Bone, Launches Wireless Model

Logitech this week announced the launch of its Wireless Trackball M570, and don't bother calling it a comeback, because these suckers never left in the first place. Believe it or not, trackballs still command a fiercely loyal following, and the M570 takes its place as the flagship model in Logitech's trackball lineup.

"Based on overwhelming demand from our dedicated trackball users, we’re delighted to announce the introduction of a new wireless trackball – the Logitech Wireless Trackball M570," said Rory Dooley, senior vice president and general manager of Logitech’s control devices business unit. "Everything about our newest trackball is built to improve the experience and give trackball enthusiasts the comfort and control they deserve."

Other than the obvious trackball design, if you're into that sort of thing, one of the coolest features is the minuscule wireless receiver. The tiny receiver doesn't protrude out like most USB dongles, so you can safely keep it plugged into your desktop or notebook without worrying about accidentally ramming into it and fluxoring your USB port.

There's even more magic hidden in the Unifying wireless receiver. Not only is it small, but it can accommodate up to six compatible wireless devices, such as a keyboard, numpad, or whatever.

Getting back to the actual mouse, the M570 comes with a scroll wheel and easy-to-reach back and forward buttons, and according to Logitech, it's oh-so-dreamy in your hands for all-day computing sessions.

The M570 will ship sometime this month for $60.

For gaming these arnt the good, but i like using a track ball when i hook my computer up to the tv and sit back on the couch because you dont need a flat surface.

If this has a dongle as small as the one for my Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 6000 it'll be great.

I'll get one for sure.
