JHooper 2 years ago

I am willing to give this a try. It could help me with my computer controlled lights and music for Halloween and Christmas.

AKnudson 2 years ago

I love the small form factor that zotac offers with the nano lines, however i have been somewhat disappointed in the processors and ram sets offered by this model. Its a great machine with some unique uses and factors. its not a gaming laptop or anything but it can definitely get the job done on any web browsing or word processing/spreadsheet manipulation.

Drake_McNasty 2 years ago

Nice! You guys always keep the goods coming! Good luck to everyone.

AStaples 2 years ago

Not only would this be a great little machine for the average internet-browsing person, but it looks like it'd be quite useful for a CS major like myself. It has plenty of USB ports to connect devices, and would fit nicely in a dorm room and serve as a cute little powerhouse for coding!

RTietjens 2 years ago

Wow, could use this in the new library I'm building (in lieu of the Man Cave I really want)! We use a lot of Zotac video cards here at $WORKPLACE and I've been pretty impressed.

LBowen 2 years ago

It seems I already had all the steps completed. My odds may not be the best since I have won before but I'll gladly throw my name in the hat for this beauty. Thanks to HotHardware and ZOTAC :)

SHartungWetter 2 years ago

That's nice, I would appreciate one of these.

Thank you HotHardware.

Msp33d 2 years ago

Pretty cool little unit.  Would love to see how it performs.  it would be nice to be able to just unplug it and bring it wherever you go!

CDeeter 2 years ago

Hot Hardware has taken a look at these a few times (although not this specific build), just search for Zotac on the site.

These little buggers do really well as a HTPC, and have a cool design too!

AKechely 2 years ago

this would be amazing, I have no pc right now and this surpasses anything that i could hope to purchase right now.

From what I can tell, it looks smaller than a severed head and probably weighs a lot less.

CDeeter 2 years ago

Around 4.17” x 4.17” x 1.46”. That's tiny!

And yes, that'sSurprise smaller than a severed head

KNakakihara 2 years ago

Fits in the palm of me hand?

Yarr, this would make a perfect Stepmania box/ Media center. Seriously, lugging your rig around just to play a dance game at other people's houses is such a pain.

MKSilverSax 2 years ago

It's nice that this ZBOX has so many USB inputs...and yet that it's completely wireless capable.

SAugustine 2 years ago

I'm sure this would make a great PC to connect to the TV in my living room.

Too bad it is smaller than the Zotac Geforce GTX-295 video card I have...LOL

EGendron 2 years ago

look really nice :) i would love it

BBuck 2 years ago

I would love this. I am wanting to start storm chasing and this would be the perfect to get started. Its small enough to fit on the back of a car mounted monitor and it is powerful enough to run all the programs that I would need to run to not only track radar but also receive data from vehicle mounted wind sensors. I want it bad.

MYoung2 2 years ago

My mind is blown...Ive never even heard of something like this.....A minipc....I feel like Ive been living under a rock for the past few years...

I wonder what the heat coming off of it is like after a few hours

Pedeadstrian 2 years ago

Is it sad that this tiny thing is bigger than my tower desktop? I really need to replace my 9 year old computer... and this certainly would be a great step in the right direction!

BNewport 2 years ago

This is a cool little device, so small and discrete, would be great for a stealth home entertaiment system

This would make such a nice addition to my surround sound system. And I would finally be able to retire my HP a1017c that I'm currently using for an HTPC.

What's not too love? This thing has it all USB 3.0, WIFI, Blutooth, Ethernet, HDMI, Display port and more!

rrplay 2 years ago
...What's not too love? This thing has it all USB 3.0, WIFI, Blutooth, Ethernet, HDMI, Display port and more!

yeah and no doubt you would def put it to some very good use  too with all that music and media stuff you are certainly well known to do too .:)

JOMA 2 years ago

Very solid looking HTPC. Good luck to all those who are entering. Should be a sweet system.

Aoshi 2 years ago

Came back to look at it. I'd love to see one of these in action!

CLau 2 years ago

I saw in the mall, it's sooo small, I can't believe my eyes such small size can hold so much computing power, wish I can win one of these!

realneil 2 years ago
I saw in the mall, it's sooo small,
Yes, it's tiny, and also, it can be attached to the VESA mount on the back of a monitor or TV screen to be hidden from view.

How cool is that?

CBerry 2 years ago

I have been an avid user of plex for a while now. I LOVE it. It makes my current, modest sized, media library into an accessible resource for almost all my media devices. It also lets me share my library with friends as well as have their library shared with me.

The rub is finding a client machine that can be a part of a regular home entertainment system and be powerful enough to handle full bitrate bluray MKV's. The clients on OSX for some reason seem to have an eaier time, but the hardware needs for a windows machine are a bit steeper.

The main problem is getting the hardware decoding to work for all 3 main Bluray profiles (h.264,VC1, and MPEG2). This little box I have had my eye on it. I Think it has the guts to be exactly what I have been looking for in a Plex client machine. Also it would look great in an entertainment center.

Joseph Pianta 2 years ago

That's a cool little box-o-power.

Yeah I'd use it as a media server too. Set it up to share the NAS drive full of music and movies...

and allow the TV to be a quasi web machine too.

Zyperis 2 years ago

I would love to have this because I am in college and the laptop that I am using now is getting old and really slow. It is really fast and the fact that it can fit in your hand is impressive.

AHoover 2 years ago

The more I look at this machine the more impressed I am as to how much power they can fit in such a small area...

mrcapncaveman 2 years ago

Been wanting the ZBOX HTPC for awhile now, Maybe this is my chance.

TSiu 2 years ago

I can't believe its small size when I first saw it, I thought it's an external HDD , but it turns out to be full-featured PC, I am stunned!

MKalist 2 years ago

Aweseom giveaway, thanks Zotac and HotHardware.com!

fat78 2 years ago

Cool device, and those are some pretty impressive specs for such a small device.

LHo 2 years ago

very small footprint and fully packed with features for HTPC, offers a basic PC and media experience without the need for bulky tower PCs, would be glad to own it and add to my living room

eanlove98 2 years ago

this would be so nice for gaming i wish i can win :-)

realneil 2 years ago
this would be so nice for gaming i wish i can win :-)
Welcome to HotHardware.

This isn't really a gaming rig, but it's a great little HTPC. It can mount to the rear of your screen with the VESA mounts and then it's hidden.

Good luck in the contest.

Sounds like an awesome idea. I hope the memory is expandable or perhaps I can connect a 2T hard drive? I have a lot of movies!

ICheuk 2 years ago

such small size can fit into palm of my hand, I don't mind place it next to my 55" TV and use it as HTPC, just add a bluetooth keyboard or mouse, and I can surf the internet on TV...amazing...

jojodaclown 2 years ago

I'm hoping the ATI graphics are enough to play back HD content. This little box looks like it's a good entry level HTPC.

realneil 2 years ago

It can play HD content without any issues.

FTsui 2 years ago

This Zbox has both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports, a 7-in-1 memory card reader (SD/SDHC/SDXC/MS/MS Pro/xD/MMC) and eSATA port, not to mention Bluetooth, WIFI and Ethernet connection. I am amazed such small footprint can pack so many features!

great very handy....

TSanchez 2 years ago

Sweeet~ with the size, you can carry it almost anywhere but one thing that bothers me is the heat it would produce when used in a longer time.

avalanzhe_hhw 2 years ago

Ideal for a good place to hangout, portable and easy to carry!

CDeeter 2 years ago

Come to me little Zotac!

realneil 2 years ago

I would call it Fi-Fi,.....and give the run of my Bedroom! (htcp)

CDeeter 2 years ago

I would love him and hug him and call him George! But I wouldn't banish him to the bedroom, living it up in the living room for my little guy! =)

nbaines74 2 years ago

I'd love to win it.

AWeiner 2 years ago

That is very sexy. I could totally use this in my setup

FVillalobos 2 years ago

Hey!!!! HotHardware and ZOTAC, where have you been all my life?!!!

AHoover 2 years ago

In some ways this would be an upgrade for me... This machine has a better hard drive than mine, USB 3, and an sd reader. I think the sd slot would be super handy cause then I wouldn't have to hunt down my sd-usb adapter every time I needed to use it.

BSmith2 2 years ago

Wow! Looks like some fun could be had with this. A PC smaller than a laptop.

fat78 2 years ago

Now I will be able to play solitaire on my flat screen.

NYeung 2 years ago

ZOTAC ZBOX nano AD12 Plus comes with all the connectivity I could wish for a nano PC, but I am not sure if AMD Radeon HD 7340 can handle basic gaming in mid-resolution...

fat78 2 years ago

It isn't Intended for gaming, it may only meet the minimum setting of Certain games.

realneil 2 years ago
It isn't Intended for gaming, it may only meet the minimum setting of Certain games.
You're right, it's not a gaming box, but it would make an awesome HTCP and general purpose PC. I think that today is the last day to throw your hat into the ring for this little PC.

So good luck to all of you again!

KennySVG 2 years ago

Just recently I was dreaming about getting one of these to connect to a TV in my bedroom. These are so tiny it's easy to place them anywhere, love it!
