Have Some AT&T Wi-Fi With Your Starbucks Latte

Wi-Fi availability at Starbucks is nothing new. But this last February, AT&T announced that it will be replacing T-Mobile as the Wi-Fi provider for all company-operated Starbucks locations. The transition is now underway with Starbucks stores in San Antonio, Texas already outfitted with Wi-Fi hotspots from AT&T. A press release from AT&T states:

"... as of May 1, qualifying AT&T high speed Internet and Wi-Fi customers will have complimentary Wi-Fi access at more than 7,000 Starbucks locations nationwide. For millions of AT&T customers, that means more speed in more places--and for free--is on its way."

For Frappuccino drinkers who don't live or work near the initial 7,000 or so Starbucks locations outfitted with AT&T-provided Wi-Fi, T-Mobile-porvided Wi-Fi will still be available. Starbucks expects "AT&T Wi-Fi service will reach company-operated Starbucks locations on a market-by-market basis throughout the year."
