HP Revamps Pavilion Desktop Line, Intros x2301 Monitor

Earlier in the month, HP announced a number of new business and consumer notebooks. Now, it's time for the company's desktop line to get a bump of their own. This evening, HP has revealed a newly refreshed line of desktop PCs, including redesigned Pavilion consumer desktops that have seriously stepped up in the style department.

These machines have a glossy, black front panel layered over a metallic base, not to mention sliding front panels to hide ports, and select models have a valet tray integrated into the top and equipped with USB ports. You'll also find Beats Audio and HP LinkUp on select models, and of course, Intel's newest Core CPUs are here.

The Pavilion p7 series is the bargain choice, while the Slimline s5 should work great for those in studio apartments and cramped dorm rooms. The HPE h8 series are said to be the company's most powerful Pavilion PCs to date, with select models have up to three internal HDDs, AMD Phenom or Core i7 processors, as well as high-end NVIDIA or ATI graphics. It'll also support multiple monitors for the power users out there.

Speaking of monitors, the HP x2301 Micro Thin LED backlit monitor offers a 9.8mm-thin chassis, an aquamarine base, and brush anodized aluminum accents. The h8 series is expected to ship on May 18th for $599.99 and up; the p7 will ship at the same time for $299.99 and up; the Slimline s5 series will ship on June 15th for $329.99 and up; and the x2301 LCD will ship June 10th for $279.99.
