Colts Owner Jim Irsay Buys Entire Team Xbox One for Christmas, Injured DL Skyrockets with Thumb Cramps

Clark Griswold went bat-crap crazy (NSFW) after receiving a Jelly of the Month Club membership from his boss for Christmas instead of an anticipated bonus check, the latter of which he planned to use to pay for an in-ground swimming pool for the family. Clearly Colts owner Jim Irsay has seen National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and instead of getting his team rotten gifts for the holiday, he bought each and every player a Microsoft Xbox One game console.

No small feat, even though Irsay can easily afford such over-the-top gestures, the Xbox One has been pretty hard to find for those who didn't pre-order a console before its launch in November. But when you're a billionaire owner of a major sports team, you're bound to have access to certain strings you can pull.

That's not to downplay the gesture. According to the Indianapolis Star, several Colts players have been scrambling to get their hands on the new console.

It will be interesting to see how the team responds. At 9-5 going into today's game against the Chiefs, the Colts sit atop the weak AFC South division and have clinched a playoff spot. The team's goal now is to avoid injuries without building up rust until the playoffs start. If you're a Colts fans, cross your fingers the players don't suddenly fill up the injured reserve list with thumb cramps!
