Asus Eee PC Desktop, Eee Box Unveiled

The scoop wire was running late tonight and these shots of Asus' upcoming Eee Desktop made their way to our inbox just now, so we thought we'd give you the digital relay on the skinny... literally.  Though it's hard to get a sense of size here, this thing is obviously svelte.  We don't have firm details but since this is an Asus "Eee" product, we can assume it follows the same mantra of "Easy to Learn, Easy to Work, Easy to Play".  Maybe a beefed up Linux distro and application bundle?  We'll see...

We should caution you that these are not "official" pictures per se.  In fact, we can't really comment on the source of these pics except to say that they are indeed shots of an Asus Eee PC Desktop product that should be arriving to market some time in the next quarter or so.

 looks kinda like a wii

Oh wow, it does look like a Wii.

Any word on price?  Maybe it'll sell for a sweet $250 like the Wii, too.

that would be nice if it was 250 dollars

Well, they got the form factor down, but as they say, beauty is only skin deep. Lets hope what's on the inside is as pleasing. Since this bares the Eee nameplate I presume this is going to be quite reasonably priced. In keeping with the current Asus trend I think this will offer performance befitting its price, whatever that price may be. Unlike other manufacturers, Asus doesn't seem to include a premium based on intangible aesthetics when assigning prices.

i hope it runs xp instead of linux but i do agree with you that it will be reasonbably priced

Yeah, this should be a pretty nice machine with a bit more horsepower for sure over the notebook, since they can save cost without the LCD etc.

it is a FAKE !!!

hahah! I can assure you, it isn't... We got it from a rather trusted source.... very trusted actually.
