Amazon Enhances Prime With Free Streaming Service

We knew there was the possibility that Amazon was looking into a Netflix-style streaming service to accompany its Prime membership option. Now, the online retailer has officially confirmed the service. With a paid subscription to Amazon Prime (which costs $79 per year), users will get the ability to stream unlimited, commercial-free content.

Amazon claims there are 5,000 movies and TV shows available for streaming. The service is compatible with PCs, Macs, Internet connected TVs, Blu-ray players, and set-top boxes. Here's a full look at the announcement from Amazon:

The selection is far worse than Netflix at this time, so this is really only worth it if you order from Amazon enough that the free 2-day shipping is worth it.
