ATI Radeon X1900 GT Coming

X-bit Labs sends word that ATI is preparing to provide OEM's with a new Radeon X1900 GT graphics card sku. Supposedly equipped with 36 pixel processors and 12 texture units, this card will not differ much from the 48 pixel pipeline R580 GPU used on the flagship Radeon X1900 XTX. In fact, the enthusiast community will be eager to see whether these "GT" sku's can be unlocked into fully-fledged "XTX" parts with minor modification. In the meantime, OEM's ans System Integrators will be the only ones to get their hands on these cards as ATI currently has no plans to bring this card to retail.

The Radeon X1900 GT will sport a cut-down version of the Radeon X1900 graphics processor with 36 pixel processors and 12 texture units. While some of the Radeon X1900 GT parts will sport "fallout" R580 chips that do not have 48 pixel processors fully-functional, quite a lot of such products will feature fully-fledged R580 chips with some of execution units halted.
