Microsoft Discounts 15.6” ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA To $299
Microsoft’s ongoing “12 Days of Deals” promotion is still trucking along and today’s deal markdowns yet another ASUS product. In this case, Microsoft is discounting the ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA by $200 to an attractive $299 price point.
In case you didn’t already know, the TP500LA features a 15.6” HD touchscreen display that can be rotated 360 degrees to that it lays against the bottom of the laptop’s chassis. This in effect turns the device into a massive (and heavy) tablet. You obviously don’t have to use the device in this configuration if you don’t want to, but you can’t fault ASUS for giving users the option.
As for what’s under the hood of the 4.94-pound convertible, you’ll find:

It should be noted that the TP500LA is listed as a Microsoft Signature Edition laptop which means that it ships to you without the vast array of crapware and trialware apps that typically come with a new PC when you purchase it direct from the manufacturer, or even from big box retailers like Best Buy.
You can purchase the TP500LA by itself for the aforementioned price of $299, or if you choose to add Office 365 to the mix, you’ll have to fork over $378.99.
